Do I need to seal my floors?
Should you or shouldn't you seal your stone/tile? Sealing is the application of a product to waterproof and limit wear of tile & stone. Chemical sealants are often used on tiles to improve durability and appearance, increase stain resistance, reduce efflorescence, and increase or reduce surface smoothness. Before sealing or selecting a sealer you should know these things:
- Do I even need to seal it? Most tiles do not need to be sealed. Sealing natural stone depends on a number of things, including how porous the stone is.
- Where is my stone located and what will it be exposed to?
- What do I want my stone to look like after sealing it?
Once you have decided to seal your stone, we will assist you in purchasing the proper sealer for your project.
